Okan Algün began his 23-year professional career as a Systems Engineer and has since specialized in information security, ethical hacking, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and educational technologies. He serves as an Executive Consultant for Educational Technologies to some of Turkey’s leading local technology manufacturers.
He has worked as a sworn expert in cybercrime for both criminal and civil courts in Istanbul, and has collaborated with community policing units and numerous non-governmental organizations to enhance public sector cybersecurity. Holding the titles of Microsoft Certified Trainer and Cybersecurity Architect, Algün has delivered seminars and conferences to over 70,000 students across Turkey in his efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness. He is also the author of the book “Cybersecurity for Youth” and has delivered TEDx talks to further expand his reach and impact.
His research interests include social engineering, cybercrime, digital evidence analysis, forensic document examination, artificial intelligence applications in education, educational technology security, assessment and evaluation systems, and AI-assisted learning environments. He currently leads EduTech Bilişim, the company he founded, which provides digital transformation, cybersecurity solutions, and technology consultancy to universities, private educational institutions, and public organizations.
